Introduction

Over the years, there has been an increase in the number of people seeking healthcare facilities. One of the reasons has been an increase in healthcare conditions and health awareness. Despite the increase in the number of people seeking healthcare facilities, there has also been an increase in healthcare facilities since healthcare has been seen as one of the most profitable fields. Even though Vital Docs has outstanding performance, some patient complaints could have reduced its competitive advantage. This facility wants to develop a 5- year strategic plan to address the current problems in improving its competitive advantage.

Summary of the Organization

The Vital Docs facility has encountered some challenges that have made it struggle to perform optimally. For instance, the current management has failed to successfully manage the healthcare workforce, which has caused a lot of complaints and increased employee turnover. Moreover, the facility has not employed diversity, equity, and inclusion among the employees since there have been cases of bias, which have negatively affected the organization's image. Furthermore, the healthcare facility has been suffering from contemporary challenges such as cyber security, increased healthcare costs, and the negative impact of advanced technology. The facility has also failed to employ trends such as artificial intelligence, wearable devices, and virtual treatment. The facility plans to address these issues through a 5-year strategic plan.

Managing Healthcare Workforce

Even though the healthcare facility has an outstanding workforce, there are some areas that the management could improve to attain outstanding results. Since management leads the organization, it should employ measures to manage the healthcare workforce. One way of managing the workforce is through improving the workforce's morale. Since there have been instances where healthcare professionals have suffered from low morale, there should be ways of boosting their morale. The main reason is the morale of the healthcare professionals is likely to affect the quality of the healthcare services that the healthcare professionals will be offering. For instance, it will create intrinsic motivation among healthcare professionals who will be ready to employ measures to offer the patients the best services.

One way to boost employee morale is by engaging healthcare workers in decision-making. Most healthcare providers have not been included in the decision-making process in the past.
