A recruitment process that lacks adequate planning, research, and conceptualization will eventually fail. That is why companies must use a proactive recruitment process. Recruiters in proactive recruitment plan ahead of time so that their goal is already set and clear. They also prepare to know what to do if an unexpected occurrence or problem occurs. Hence, proactive recruitment entails researching their profiles and searching for suitable target candidates before a job opening occurs. Furthermore, while the traditional recruitment method is still available, it does not provide the same benefits as proactive recruitment (Kekale, 2017; Prakoso & Jowono, 2022). Therefore, companies should adopt a proactive recruitment process to ensure the success of the recruitment process.
The phases of planning and research are critical in the recruitment process. A well-planned and researched recruitment process will provide accurate information, necessary actions, and risk mitigation procedures. Furthermore, it can save both recruiter's and candidates' time, reduce recruitment costs, and provide the best results. The proactive recruitment process requires preparatory steps for the recruitment and interview process.
The first step is to perform a job analysis. Job analysis clarifies jobs, abilities, knowledge, and skills. It is critical to assist a candidate in understanding the job's goal, education and expertise required, the roles and responsibilities, and the workplace conditions. As a result, job analysis assists candidates in understanding what are the expectations from them (Okolie, 2018). Therefore, a job analysis tool can help craft the interview questions. The questions will all be anchored on the goals and purpose of the job analysis tool. The questions may include the candidate's job expectations, such as workloads, workdays, salary, and the like. Through this, the recruiter may have an idea regarding the candidate's perception of the job. The questions may include the candidate's educational background and previous work experiences. These questions will help the recruiter assess the strengths and abilities of the candidate. The questions may also include the candidate's short-term and long-term goals. These will help the recruiter understand the candidate's professional goal. Additionally, the questions may include situations that will help the recruiter assess the candidate's behavior and values. In conclusion, a job analysis tool helps craft interview questions to help evaluate a candidate.
After performing a job analysis and crafting possible interview questions, the candidates' applications will be evaluated. The submission of applications may take place online since it is more convenient and efficient these days. The applications will then be initially screened according to their highest educational attainment, previous work experiences, and p...
