Sample Selection in Qualitative Research Student Name Institution Course Professor Name Date Sample Selection in Qualitative Research Williams (2025) examines the impact of COVID-19 and remote learning on the academic outcomes of Title 1 schools serving kindergarten through grade 12 students in Southern North Carolina through his dissertation research. The population comprises educators and administrators from a middle school in the district, while the sample is 16 participants, 13 of whom are teachers and 3 are administrators, purposively selected (Williams, 2025). The participants took part in emergency remote learning programs because of the COVID-19 pandemic spread. Ensuring Representativeness of the Sample Williams (2025) used purposeful sampling to select participants who experienced remote learning during the 2020-2021 academic year. It aligns with Creswell and Creswell’s (2009) suggestion that the participants should be selected in a way that they will offer quality information on the phenomenon being studied. Also, the sample involved teachers at different levels (classroom, special education, administrators) to increase the study’s credibility.
