April 2021
Abstract
This paper focuses on the risk analysis of an electric power station in Shanghai China. In the subsequent paragraphs, this research document will discuss in a clear and concise method the various risk management procedures that entail an accurate and thorough investigation as to the risk management requirements of a construction project, the process of data collection, and risk in information gathering. Furthermore, this paper will also identify the separate risks while an analysis of the latter will also be given emphasis. The urgency of this paper centralizes on the importance of both management and engineering protocols that will ensure the success of a program more specifically the electricity projects in China. Moreover, at the end, of this paper, a conclusion and recommendation will be discussed to provide solutions to possible risks that require management and a well-detailed plan of fixing issues that arise in electricity power plants in Shanghai China.
Introduction
According to Mauzerall D.L. (2020), that in most developing countries, the power sectors play a huge role in the foreign investment and economic status of these respective governments. However, the most urgent mission is to provide the communities with energy and power for their electricity. In the year 1980, China was not that fully developed yet in terms of its power structures, and the people experienced shortages in power on a severe scale. During that time, the state was still not able to provide for the electricity demand based only on their local government investments. Thus, the political leaders paved a way for foreign investments and even removed the regulations that served as barriers, and even limited the progress of China's power supply. The Chinese officials planned a brilliant restructured tariff program that attracted numerous foreign investors. Hence, this plan started the economic, scientific, and technological growth interrelated with the electric supply in the country's cities. This enabled the consistent and sure progress of Chinese enterprises and investors on power projects and programs. New power plants were built and a series of mergers with groups of corporations multiplied the investments that focused entirely on developing hydropower projects. Every corporate power plant or project have their own internal rules and regulations that entail a definite and systematic method in the administration and management of the energy resources in Shanghai China. It is of such urgency that every power corporation develops a safe, healthy, and precautionary guideline that will keep their staff and employees safe as they work within the ambits of the power plants. Moreso, the communities surrounding these enterprises must also feel that no accidents nor any form of negligence would take place as they live safely around the power plants. Therefore, this is where risk management plays a primordial role in the internal and external processes and strategies for developing the power stations and methodological procedures that are required in the functions of electricity corporations. It must be remembered that Engineering Principles require Project Risk Management protocols that we must have a full understanding of such as the key elements, techniques, and issues within an electricity power station development (Hawwash K.).
Risk Information and Data Collection
Every Engineering and Science project entails a sure-footed blueprint that not only focuses on the structure of the plan but as well as the safety and hazard guidelines to prevent any form of accidents or tragedies that might endanger the lives of the people working in the power plants. As stated by An M., Ahmad H. (2010) that many environmental factors must be considered by the power plant organizations of Shanghai China. How the management of the particular power plant supports the goal of safety will affect the company in terms of performing initiatives that will accurately deliver positive results that would be appreciated by individuals and other conglomerates in the field of electricity. It is a must that the fundamental principles in analyzing risk management be followed by the top-tier officers down to the staff of the corporations of the Shanghai Electricity Power Stations. The principles are all about adopting and performing a high-quality risk analysis that is also trustworthy since there are no stones left unturned. Every department, individual, material, and technological equipment will be checked for possible risks. The Chinese Power stations must ensure that the applications for risk analysis are followed down to the very letter of the guidelines. There must be a solid platform that provides solutions to every possible risk and danger that would arise as a result of performing these risk checkers. There must be a balance in research, improvements, and the application of systematic mathematical equations in building progress (SRA, 2021).
Risk Identification
As clearly explained by Hawwash K. that the meaning of safety elucidates freedom from any kind of danger that could greatly affect life, property, or even the surroundings and the environment in connection with the application of Engineering procedures and the obedience to rules of management. Thus, the following checklist must be reviewed. Will the Power Station cause injury to its employees and personnel. Will it cause liabilities such as damage to properties and even pollute the environment. A safe construction site indicates that individuals working for the corporation could go about their daily schedules and job descriptions without the danger of being involved in equipment crashes or chemical exposures and such. In addition, the management, heads, and leaders of the Shanghai Electricity Power Stations are to be held responsible for assigning technical personnel that would daily check the overall status of the area or location where the plant is situated.
Risk Analysis
This next process is highly required as the Electricity Power Plants of Shanghai function on a normal day-to-day basis. There must be a high level of r...
