ETH 501 Business Ethics
In my Business Ethics class, I discovered that ethical decision-making is a skill that can be practiced. The course taught me how vital honesty and open communication are as a project manager. After graduating, I want to study corporate social responsibility (CSR). The course taught me how crucial ethical decision-making is for an organization (Bhatti et al., 2021). CSR may help me comprehend how businesses may benefit society while generating money.
CSR includes protecting the environment, helping people, and involving stakeholders. Modern firms that aim to create long-term profit and tackle social and environmental issues must know how to incorporate these elements into their operations and decisions (Ballesteros-Sánchez et al., 2019). I wish to understand better CSR strategies, techniques, and models to align business goals with societal demands. If I learn more about CSR, I can support my employers and make more ethical decisions as a responsible citizen.
MGT 501 Management and Organizational Behavior
Management and Organizational Behavior taught me how leadership styles affect employee motivation and productivity. The workshop demonstrated good leadership is important to company growth and workplace happiness. It prioritized understanding differences, communicating, and involving employees to achieve organizational goals. I think understanding more about this issue would help me operate a happy, inclusive workplace (Wu et al., 2019). Organizational culture affects employee behavior and company performance. It contains common values, conventions, and ideas that help employees behave and communicate.
I would learn how to develop a culture that engages, innovates, and collaborates by studying organizational culture. Learning about organizational culture would also equip me to manage organizational transformation (Wu et al., 2019). As firms adjust to changing market conditions and technology, building company culture and linking it with strategic goals becomes more necessary. I could lead and promote organizational change projects and drive long-term progress by becoming an expert in this area.
BUS 520 Business Analytics and Decision Making
I found the Business Analytics and Decision-Making class’s data-driven decision-making very valuable. The course taught me how to collect, analyze, and understand data for business decisions. It emphasizes using data to find new ideas, trends, and difficult problems (Alvarenga et al., 2019). This knowledge will help me to work as a project manager, and I will realize how vital data is to project success from the training. I will improve by regularly reviewing project data and performance measures. I learned data analysis essentials throughout the course; however, learning predictive analytics would be helpful in the future.
Predictive analytics predicts the future using historical data and statistical models. Predictive analytics would teach me to identify trends, find opportunities, and reduce risks. I learned data-driven decision-making in Business Analytics and Decision Making (Alvarenga et al., 2019). I improved my projects as a project manager using what I learned in class. Predictive analytics will teach me forecasting and decision-making after graduation. I can use statistics to assist organizations in succeeding with this knowledge.
BUS 530 Managerial Economics
Managerial Economics taught me how to apply economic principles to business decisions. The training taught me how to analyze market conditions, determine a project’s economic viability, and maximize resources. As a project manager, I will apply cost-benefit analysis from class. Managerial Economics will help me weigh the pros and cons of each project resource allocation option. Managerial Economics’ market organization and competition interest me after graduation (Hirschey et al., 2022). The class covered perfect competition, monopolistic competition, oligopoly, and monopoly market systems.
Market structure and competition taught me how market conditions affect pricing, market entry, product differentiation, and business performance. Learning market structure and competition would also help me understand how competition is developing and how to respond (Hirschey et al., 2022). Understanding the economic principles that drive competition would help me in my career because markets and customer tastes change.
ACC 501 Accounting for Decision Making
Accounting for Decision Making taught me how to read and understand financial data to make good business decisions. I learned accounting, financial statements, and data analysis in the course. These skills help assess an organization’s financial health. Strategic cost management identifies, analyzes, and controls expenses to boost value and competitiveness.
I could understand activity-based costin...
