Case Assignment
Quality Management
Quality Digest covers quality management topics: customer care, healthcare, innovation, lean, operations, risk management, six sigma, supply chain, and sustainability.
Select a Quality Digest article written in the last two years and use it as the topic of your presentation. At least one other source is required.
Written Research Report
Write a 250- to 300-word APA-formatted document explaining the quality management topic you selected.
2- to 2½-Minute Video
You should talk about the same content that is written, but do not read it. Impromptu speaking has a different impact than reading from a screen. You may add personal professional applications in the presentation.
No quotations are permitted in this paper. Each paragraph must contain at least one in-text citation.
Since you are engaging in research, cite in the body of the post and add a reference list in APA format. NOTE: failure to use research with accompanying in-text citations to support content will result in reduced scoring "Level 2-Developing" on the grading rubric.
The paper should be written in the third person. This means words like “I,” “we,” and “you” are not appropriate. Refer to yourself in third-person as “manager” or write about what the “project team” will do, rather than saying “I” and “we.”

Challenges for Medical Device Integration
The healthcare industry has adopted Smart medical solutions to improve patient safety, better data management, enhance clinical decisions, increase efficiency, and save costs. Innovative medical solutions have allowed remote patient monitoring, medical asset tracking, wellness tracking wearables, and secure patient data collection. Hence, the implementation of medical device integration has faced challenges such as lack of standardization and interoperability, data security and privacy concerns, and complexity in regulatory compliance.
Firstly, more standardization and interoperability between devices and systems is a significant challenge in medical device integration. The reason is variations in data formats and communication protocols (Dzhezhora, 2023). Hence, it reduces the timeliness of healthcare decisions and effective patient care. However, seamless interoperability can be ensured by adopting an application programming interface in the health record system (Bitkina et al., 2020). Hospitals can build partnerships and support open data standards and platforms for easier standardization.
Secondly, Medical devices collect, store, and transmit sensitive and confidential patient information; thus, data security and privacy are a concern. This scenario makes the medical systems a major target...
