The inability to reject the null hypothesis suggests a potential statistically significant relationship between external factors and the decrease in standardized test scores. Nonetheless, we lack adequate evidence to substantiate the alternative hypothesis, which posits a statistically significant difference between external factors and the decline in standardized test scores. In this vein, it is suggested that practitioners, policymakers, and researchers consider the various external influences that may affect students' academic performance as reflected in their standardized test scores. For instance, the physical characteristics of the classroom environment can influence students' learning experiences, thereby impacting their test scores. Additionally, the level of a teacher's experience may also play a role in shaping students' performance on standardized assessments. It is also recommended that future research should be undertaken to include a broader range of schools, enabling the observation of variations in factors that influence students' performance on standardized test scores, as per Al-Muslimawi and Hamid’s (2019) suggestion.
