* Samsung
The innovation process at Samsung is based on creating processes that will lead to the achievement of systematic results. Given the increased competition in the technology industry over the last 10 to 15 years, innovation has played a significant role in Samsung’s market leadership over most of its competitors. The organization’s successful innovation culture can be attributed to a combination of managerial prioritization and well-choreographed team processes (Haizar et al., 2020). At the leadership level, Samsung has heavily invested in design, research, and development. As a result, Samsung resorted to developing various design centers in some of its top markets in cities like San Francisco, Tokyo, London, Shanghai, and Los Angeles (Haizar et al., 2020). The main aim of establishing these design centers is to understand customer trends and needs better. More so, Samsung has established an Innovation and Design Lab, whereby training of its in-house designers occurs. Dolata (2017) states that about 10% of Samsung revenue is usually plowed back to research and development-related activities. In this sense, Samsung has been identified as one of the world's innovation spenders. On the other hand, 15% of the company's design team time is usually spent looking at and analyzing the probable consumer trends in the coming years. Samsung has also created a perpetual crisis culture whereby the organization analyses its competitors, develops new products, and regularly enhances business growth processes (Haizar et al., 2020). Subsequently, Samsung's innovation culture can be attributed to integrating processes that result in systematic results both in the short and long-term.
