The technology company, considered one of the Big Five American tech companies, started as an internet-based market for books before progressively expanding to e-commerce, online marketing, digital streaming, cloud computing, and AI. The company went public in 1997 and began international operations in the UK and Germany. Over the years, it has expanded to 131 countries worldwide, with revenue of 574.8 billion dollars as of 2023 (Yu & Adhikariparajuli, 2022, p.4). With success, the company has adopted various corporate social responsibilities aimed at investing in sustainability as it is good for the business, planet, customers, and communities. CSR Policy Amazon has adopted corporate social responsibility through several programs. One is the Climate Pledge environmental sustainability program. The program was launched in 2019 in collaboration with Global Optimism with the objective of rallying companies to commit to zero carbon emissions by 2040.
