The company’s work is configuring music from around the world, making it available in different media and creating original soundtracks for movies and television series. While the company has largely been successful, it has faced accusations of lack of diversity in the workforce by failing to incorporate different genders, religion, ages, race, and nationality as they currently have five men in their payroll who only prefer country rock music (Bateman & Konopaske, 2022, pp. 6-7). As a result, this has made it challenging to understand and meet the needs of their artists and connect with their audience.  How does Diversity relate to Competitiveness per the given company scenario? Diversity can influence the competitiveness of Vibes Trend in three ways. One is helping the company understand diverse markets (Bateman & Konopaske, 2022, pp. 15). The primary issue the company is accused of is failing to connect with its audiences and being culturally insensitive. Having a diverse workforce opens doors to new contacts in new communities, as diverse employees easily penetrate the previous impenetrable market as they match their identity, needs and interests. Hence, this makes the company attractive to diverse groups such as minorities and women, both young and old, as the company represents their choices in music. Diversity relates to Vibe Trend becoming competitive by leveraging creativity and innovation in solving problems. Employees with a similar demographic tend not to understand the delicate and significant concerns and preferences shared by different communities (Bateman & Konopaske, 2022, pp. 15). For example, how a musician’s culture influences their music and the types of music diverse groups would enjoy hearing.
