The process is far more extensive since it entails pooling appropriate and qualified candidates, while unsuitable candidates are discouraged from applying by providing specific requirement information. Lastly, the selection process is about matching the potential candidates with the specific positions in an organization. In doing so, the selection process ensures that the right candidates are hired and deployed to appropriate sections based on their qualifications and experience. Human Resources Development The human resource development function is characterized by a process in which human resource management develops training programs to mentor and coach workers. The essence of such a program is to foster employee growth, adjustment, and refining skill sets to prepare them for career development. Such an approach benefits the workers and the organization since improved personal performance is crucial to enhanced effectiveness. Okoye and Ezejiofor (2013) elaborate on the idea by theorizing that human resource development is about helping workers develop their personal and organizational knowledge, skills, and abilities. The specific training programs resulted in career development, performance management, and succession planning. Compensation and Benefits Compensation and benefits are a branch of human resource management that deals with employees’ payments and the provision of benefits. Specifically, this function of human resource management is vital since it deals with the tangible and intangible benefits that a company can offer its employees in exchange for their labor (Singhvi et al., 2018). Specifically, compensation refers to the wages and salaries paid to workers, while benefits are the additional paybacks, such as health insurance, pension plans, and vacation time.
