So often, people tend to suffer a lot as a result of failure by people in a position to simply make quick decisions. In this job, I am obliged to have the capacity to coordinate with all relevant authorities, specialists, international pioneers, and successfully communicate with partners. Job Title: Director, Emergency Management
Basic Job Description
The Emergency Management Director position comes with some responsibilities which can be summarized as follows;
To plan and direct crisis management or disaster response activities. To provide training for disaster preparedness (CareerPlanner.com, 2018). To prepare emergency plans as well as procedures for natural disasters such as floods, hurricanes, and earthquakes, for technological or wartime situations such as spillage of hazardous material and nuclear accidents and hostage situations. The job also entails interdepartmental and inter-agency coordination of disaster mitigation and recovery, as well as the ability to craft plans towards this end.
Duties and Tasks
* Stay informed about the changes or activities that could impact the probability of an emergency and parties that could affect all the response details and efforts of the implementation plan.
* Hazard assessment and planning.
* Prepare plans outlining operating procedures that would be applied to respond to emergencies or disasters like terrorist attacks and hurricanes and in recovery.
* Recommend alteration to procedures of emergency response based on changes in regulation, technology, or lesson learned from previous emergency incidents.

* Reviewing and maintenance of the facilities related to disaster management and preparedness.
Perhaps the greatest task of emergency management directors is to assess the disaster about the resources available. These resources include people and equipment to be used. If the resources at hand are not adequate, it is then upon them to now coordinate with other departments, such as fire or police departments, to pool together additional resources to supplement what’s at hand. They then orient the personnel with the various emergency procedures before then going ahead to either inform or warn the members of the public on the emergency. In a nutshell, the duties of an emergency management director usually overlap with even those of the junior staff.
