While the world has made significant strides towards gender equality in the last few decades, it still arguable that a woman’s place is still in the home. It is even still enshrined in the constitution of a European country, Ireland (BBC, 2018). Unlike men, women do more unpaid domestic work such as cleaning, laundry, cooking, and cleaning, and taking care of children. This only points to the truth that despite the progress made in her empowerment, a woman’s place is still in the home.
The fact that a woman’s place in the home is still supported by a constitution of a European country shows that there is still a long way to go to attain gender equality.
