-Discuss Women on the Border’s data on wages, the cost of living, and the impact of working in these industries on women’s lives. What did you find most surprising? To what extent do you feel multi-national corporations contribute to the situations indicated by the data?
Discuss the notion of corporate responsibility in relation to the actions of these industries at the U.S.-Mexico border. Are corporate actions at the border ethical? Are they moral? Provide a resource to support your position.

This course has been instrumental in advancing my understanding of various social issues in the present-day society. The course’s value stemmed from its exploration of diversity, inclusion, and human services. As society grows technologically, it opens a platform for cultural growth. In social work, structural changes in cultures extend to impact how people think, feel, and understand prospects. Throughout the course, learners were engaged in discussing the various topics on social work, which triggered the exploration of knowledge on cultural competency and its application in engaging with individuals from varying backgrounds. This reflection fosters how partaking in the course changed my thinking and outlined some social elements that I consider vital in developing a culturally competent plan of action.
This course has been a vital factor in changing my thinking and understanding of cultural diversity. Before exploring the different components of the course, my understanding of cultural diversity-focused only on acknowledging the differences. Cultures indeed differ in various aspects including language or even perception. However, diversity extends beyond the basic tenets of differences (Malhotra & Ravi, 2024). Prospects such as power dynamics and cultural-historical contexts also contribute significantly to the differences that people showcase. For a better understanding, the course provided a discussion on Women on the Border's data. The data showed how various multinational organizations bear exploitative practices that contribute to some of the economic hardships that women face in the workplace.
