Organizations that provide care are working hard to adopt the Affordable Care Act. In this case, coordinated care, also known as the integrated health model that correlates all aspects of healthcare into patient-centered care, appears to be the preferred choice that most organizations are adopting. Glen McDaniel, a healthcare executive states that the currently existing non-integrated systems produce enormous variations in care such as lack of ease in data retrieval and difficulty in attaining workflow. This results in duplication, increased usage of services, increased length of stay and increased cost of hospitalization.
