Team-Building Activity Your Name Subject and Section Professor’s Name March 20, 2022 Understanding the importance of team-building is essential for any organization. It allows the organization to perform effectively and efficiently with the least cost possible. Additionally, team-building can also foster human relationships that transcend the workplace. In line with this, this article would provide a plan for an effective team-building activity within a public health team composed of both clinical and non-clinical members. Accordingly, the succeeding sections would provide the purpose of the activity, the various goals that must be met, the timeline of proposed activities, and the estimated costs associated with it. All in all, the author believes that having a well-established plan is crucial for the organization's success.  Escape Rooms The team-building activity that is proposed for this group is an Escape Room activity. In an article written by Gordon et al. (2019), the authors noted that escape room activities are effective in determining the various strengths in the team dynamics of a group. Notably, the authors found out that these kinds of activities help establish the idea that “I belong in this group.”  Purpose of the Activity As stated earlier, the primary purposes of this activity are the following: 1 Improve team dynamics between individuals. 2 Create a sense of belongingness between the team members. 3 Improve workplace culture despite the differences in the work functions of the group.  First, the activity aims to improve team dynamics between the team members. As provided from the case, the group is composed of both medical and non-medical professionals. This can create a sense of disconnect between the members of each group because of the differences in functions, experiences, and even compensation, to name a few (Eubanks et al., 2016). In turn, this can disrupt team dynamics between the members. Second, this activity aims to create a sense of belongingness between everyone. Groups composed of smaller groups with different job functions can create smaller inner circles, which exclude others. Thus, similar to the conclusion in Gordon et al.’s (2019) study, the goal is to create a sense of belongingness.  Finally, this activity has the purpose of improving workplace culture. In one study conducted by Potnuru et al. (2019), the authors noted that team-building activities could help improve organizational learning culture, which is essential for motivation.  Activity Details The activity would be composed of three various events to be held within two days, namely; (1) escape room activity one, (2) escape room activity two, (3) Social Event, and (4) after party. All of these events are focused on the three purposes as outlined above.  The following table provides the schedule of various activities to be conducted. 1 Escape Room One 2 Short Program and Social Lunch 3 Escape Room Two 4 Culmination Program, Social Event, and Dinner 5 After-party Activities 6 Get together Escape Room One Escape Room one would focus on the idea of teamwork. The activity would have to be solved by everyone working together rather than focusing on thinking activities. This way, team dynamics, and collaboration would be the main focus instead of a member thinking his way through the puzzles. In one article written by Pan et al. (2017), escape rooms have the capability of building collaboration, awareness, and communication, which are all essential for building team dynamics.  This escape room activity would have a total duration of 2 and 1/2 hours with a resting station of 30 minutes in the middle, for a total of 3 hours.  A 1-hour lunch break would then follow this.  Escape Room Two Escape Room Two would focus on building a sense of connection between one another, specifically by making each one feel that “they are a member of the group.” In contrast, to escape room one, the main focus of this activity would be deconstructing symbolic boundaries between clinical and non-c...
