The learning process incorporates a teacher, learner and imparting knowledge. Hence, for learning to take place the three aspects must be present, but appropriate facilities can improve learning. At the same time, learning is associated with permanent change in behaviour following acquisition of skills and knowledge highlighting the importance of quality in learning in influencing behavioural changes. Active listening is an integral component of my teaching philosophy. The cognitive theory is applicable in learning and teaching as students have different learning styles, and I emphasize on the theory because it highlights on role of reflection in learning.
Teaching relates to use of instructional strategies and interventions to meet learning objectives while adhering to a teaching plan. Teaching and learning are complementary, and as a teacher I find it fulfilling when students can constructively discuss issues on what they have learned. It gives me joy when students use their skills to further improve learning, and I see this as teaching success which extends from the interaction of learning and teaching.
Using interactive lectures, case studies and group work would meet goals and objectives as a teacher and the goals of students. This is because the strategies focus on active learning which allows students to get more directly involved in the learning process.
