The eye has lacrimal apparatus, which consists of the lacrimal gland, lacrimal canaliculi, lacrimal sac, and the nasolacrimal duct (Marieb & Smith, 2016). The lacrimal apparatus is in the ocular orbit. The wall of the eye has three layers, with the outermost fibrous layer being a protective layer with dense connective tissue. It has white sclera fibrous layer, and the anterior-most portion forms the transparent cornea where light enters the eye. The middle layer is the vascular layer (uvea). The blood-rich nutritive region with a dark pigment prevents light scattering within the eye (Marieb & Smith, 2016).
