Social Constructivism Name: Institution: Course: Instructor: Date: Social Constructivism Reasonability of Social Constructivism Theory Social constructivism theory postulates that social interaction facilitates learning, especially in groups (Agius, 2013). Therefore, the theorist believed that knowledge and understanding contribute to social construction, translating that interaction and language are learning prerequisites (Agius, 2013). The theory is reasonable because humans are naturally social beings and rely on interactions for survival. Therefore, borrowing from this fact about human beings, it is true that most of our learning occurs through social interaction. Therefore, most categories are considered constructs influenced by societal norms, culture, language, and experiences. Are there any reasons to believe that all of our categories are constructs, or are only some of them? Although social constructivism categorizes all our categories as constructs, this does not apply to all categories.
