Single Sex Education Students Name Institutional Affiliation Sax claims that Single-sex schools tend to perform better as compared to mixed-sex schools. I think the claim is credible considering the various perspectives that he has offered from different scholars. He has also given case study examples to illustrate how students in a single-sex school performed better as compared to those in mixed-sex schools. However, some of the scholars argue out that the issue of single-sex schools is illegal, but evidence shows that it is helping the students to perform well in class. Ethos The author is the founder of the National Association for the Advancement of Single Sex Public Education hence supporting his ideology about single-sex schools. The body advocates for single sex school programs to ensure that students perform better as compared to those in the mixed schools. Pathos Girls brains develop faster as compared to those of boys. Therefore, it would be challenging to expect boys to understand a similar concept as easily as girls. Thus, this calls for single-sex schools to ensure the effectiveness of teaching. The teachers have to use different strategies in explaining concepts to the students. This can be best done if the girls and boys attend separate classes. Logos Human sex differences are socially created (Sax 2002). Therefore, if you teach a boy to play with dolls and a girl to play with manly toys, then everything will be different.
