Using a graphic organizer such as a Venn diagram, illustrate the similarities and differences between Greenleaf's principles of servant leadership and those presented in the biblical passages.
In 500 words, summarize how both Greenleaf and Christianity call people to serve and discuss how one feels when called to serve as a leader. In your summary, include discussion of the idea that power comes from giving it away and putting oneself in the position to serve others. Using Matthew 20:20-28 and Greenleaf's principles of servant leadership as a basis, discuss how taking the role of a servant can make one a leader. Provide specific examples to support your ideas.

Servant Leadership
Leadership is all about servitude. This is to mean that for one to be a leader they have to be ready to serve the people that they interact with in the different capacities. As a leader, one gives away their power and authority. Ideally, being a leader, is not about how much power and authority one has, but rather the ability to assist the people that they interact with by giving them the power (Clark, 2014). Where one is a leader, they should not be domineering on those that they lead, but rather assist them to achieve their dreams. According to Greenleaf, there are principles that dictate servitude for leaders. There is also an element of servitude that is explained in the bible especially in Mathew 20:20-28. It is important to evaluate the two approaches of servitude in leadership to better understand what it entails and why it is important (Northeastern State University, 2016).
According Greenleaf, there are principles that underline aspects of servitude and help a leader to connect with the persons that they lead (Clark, 2014). One of the principles is listening which is part of being able to communicate. Listening intently helps that other parties to interact with one another, and it also means that the other parties are receptive of what is being said. As a leader being a good listener also shows that one is ready to connect on a deeper level. It is crucial that leaders are able to heal and empathize with those that they interact with.
