hi there am using this to get a scholarship from my school.

here are things you might need to know about me, i come from 3rd world country, specifically Eritrea. i volunteered working as a first aid provider for 3 years on helping the soldiers and old veterans during the war with Ethiopia. i also volunteered at the nation autism and developmental disability center on my free time. i helped taking care of my brother who had an autism because my parents were working to support our family we were very poor. after i came here i joined collage, im the first to go to college in my family. my dad is also here he is very sick and relieve very limeted medicare so i have to support my self and him while i go to school full time and working full time. im also a leader in Eritrean church community. i help new refugees with rides, applying for job, getting health care and translating. i also fund raise to the autism center back in Eritrea where my brother goes to school. i struggle a lot to go to school and help my family here in america and back home to my brothers and sisters. if i get scholarship as im the first one to go to collage ill help my self my family and as a nurse ill also help a ot of people here too. i also have plan to help go to third world and help a lot of people who need medical attention as a missionary nurse.

I am a leader in the Eritrean church community, and I coordinated medical assistance for veterans of the Eritrean war with Ethiopia and oversaw successful provision of medical services. I also care for my younger brother who lives with autism, and I have mentored and offered suggestions on adopting comprehensive health services to address the needs of people living with autism. In my past experience volunteering with groups addressing developmental disorders I have been requested to motivate and work together with clinicians. Eritrea is a relatively new country having broken away from Ethiopia in 1991, and the health infrastructure is poor, and I feel that my work will be appreciated.

I have worked with refugees helping them to read, navigate the social service system, applying for jobs, translating for them and improving access to health care. I have noticed that the refugees tend to value group identity compared to Americans. Respecting the dignity of the people extends to individuals and groups, and at times the refugees are grouped together despite their differences. I seek to advocate for the rights of refugees, foster their wellbeing and highlighting their collective needs. Access to health services is difficult as refugees are not all exposed to Western medicine, and their traditional knowledge should be considered when intervening.
