Scene Description
Part 1: Observation
On campus, I like to hang out in the library (Geisel) to get new reading materials. In some cases, I go there to research and complete my assignments or read novels during my leisure time. During this visit to Geisel, I am primarily concerned to observe my friend doing his homework in Geisel. He is seated directly opposite me using an Apple Notebook. Between me and him is a distance of four feet. My friend seems serious and fully occupied by his homework. However, I can see him change his facial expressions in various instances. At times, he appears happy and other times disgruntled. On his right side, there is an open notebook, and he is holding a black pen with some shiny gold markings on it. He keeps tapping the pen on the notebook but stops when he wants to write something. I can see him writing numbers and using specific formula to perform calculations. My friend repeats that process and pauses sometimes when he completes the calculations and types what I think is the final result.
Part 2: The Script
INT. GEISEL – 3:00PM TO 5:00PM.
MY FRIEND and I are seated directly opposite at GEISEL, and between us is a WOODEN STUDY TABLE. I specifically chose the side to stay since I wanted to observe MY FRIEND closely doing his homework without him realizing.
Although there are other STUDENTS at GEISEL, my primary concern is to observe MY FRIEND. On the table, MY FRIEND has an APPLE NOTEBOOK, PEN, NOTEBOOK, and SMARTPHONE. On my side, I have my APPLE MACBOOK AIR, PEN, NOTEBOOK, and several NOVELS. I can see MY FRIEND’s face well to notice all the facial expressions he makes.
MY FRIEND’s APPLE NOTEBOOK is open, and he seems to be reading something. After a few seconds, he peruses his NOTEBOOK and hold a PEN in his RIGHT HAND. Again, he looks on his LAPTOP as if reading and trying to comprehend something. He starts writing numbers on the NOTEBOOK randomly. At some point, he writes almost toward half of the NOTEBOOK, stops, and repeat the process on a line below. I can see him underlining some parts of the numbers. Afterward, he types on his APPLE NOTEBOOK with a grin and looks around him.
He repeats again by reading on his APPLE NOTEBOOK, writing numbers on the NOTEBOOK, and typing. However, his facial expression this time is a disgruntled face, looking sad. That tells me he might have got a WRONG ANSWER. As a result, MY FRIEND’S facial expression appears to change based on the ANSWER he gets after his calculation.
Part 3: Brainstorm
The non-human actor I want to brainstorm is the APPLE NOTEBOOK. The following are the twenty different ways the actor can be distinctive from the original one I observed:
HP laptop.
iPad.
A screen touch Apple Notebook.
A talking ...
