Effective coordination of resources is critical for the success of response operation. In response to the Sandy Hook incident, numerous resources were deployed and coordinated. To begin with, Connecticut police and first responders who were the first to arrive at the scene, focused on securing the school to prevent more people from getting hurt. Secondly, fire brigade officers collaborated with the police in ensuring safe evacuation of students and personnel who had taken in potentially hazardous places within the facility. Additionally, the fire personnel were also involved in clearing emergency exits and deployment of precautionary measures aimed at guarding against a fire outbreak.
