The interaction with the patient was a therapeutic one. It was based on mutual trust and respect to effect beneficial change in the patient. I approached the patient by first establishing a rapport with him. I later requested to interview him and promised to respect his privacy. This approach enabled Mr. N to feel free to share his medical information and health conditions.
