Micro teaching is the testing of one`s capabilities in teaching through handling a small group. This enables any faults in the dissemination of information to students to be noted in good time before one faces actual classes that are full of students. Micro teaching enables one to build on the skills and knowledge acquired. It instills a lot of confidence when teaching students. It provides a forum for getting constructive feedback and eliminates pressure to deliver results. I developed an insight into the needs and expectations of students through the question and answer sessions. The sessions made me identify and, understand points which were clear and, those that needed further explanations. This enriched my teaching methods.
Micro teaching instills the need for lesson plans that cover all the aspects in a topic. This enables flow in the teaching and one is able to get necessary feedback. This feedback enables one to re plan on areas that were not fully understood. It enables identity of difficult words that require further explanation.
