As presented in the preliminary result, it was concluded that many leaders from the political field were presented as opinion leaders in the educational communities. Political leaders may fail to send tweets that are primarily based on education, and despite this, other users are still at liberty to contact and interact with them. The paper is based on the theoretical frameworks of public space and affinity space to exine the topical arrangement of these Twitter conversations. Educators rely on Twitter as an educational tool that improves communication, supports classroom activities, and provides an avenue for professional development.
The presented results demonstrate the assumptive relationships between like-mindedness space and the public sphere. Twitter is a social media platform that proves to serve a public sphere, and subordinate hashtags are believed to serve the affinity purpose since they belong to the affinity space. Thus, the significant influence that dominant users have is considered to be like that of the political leaders. Their influence can be widely spread on Twitter platforms and, in the end, having the educational hashtags penetrated further. In addition, users who prefer using these hashtags are citizens as well, and they may participate in topics of public interest. In most cases, it is common for users to mention, retweet, or reply to tweets sent by political leaders.
