Stephen Spender utilizes repetition in his poem on more than one instances. One example is "Far far…. Other than this" (Spender, 2015). In these lines, the poet intentionally uses repetition to emphasize the distance between a standard and slum life. He tries to capture the attention of authorities toward the quality of life in slums, which is very far from standard ways of living (Gale, 2016).
