INTEGRATING ORGANIZING, STRUCTURE, AND FLEXIBILITY IN A COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT PLAN Student Instructor Institution Course Date Integrating Organizing, Structure, and Flexibility in a Community Engagement Plan Introduction It is crucial to establish that developing an efficient community engagement plan involves considering key success factors enabling an organization to succeed. For a community initiative to be sustainable and impactful, three essential factors must come together: functionality, coordination, and improvability. These components help the organization remain relevant and prepared and effectively address the community's needs. Thus, by applying these elements to my plan, I can facilitate cooperation, increase task productivity, and foster creativity to build sustainable and positive change. Organizing as the Foundation The first phase is organizing, which involves gathering and assembling the elements required to engage communities. Homan (2016) defined organizing as assembling physical assets, identifying individuals within a community, developing means of contact, and mobilizing people. For my community engagement plan, I would identify a group of interested individuals from the varied capacities of the community where I would be engaged. This diverse group will bring different perceptions and assets appropriate for addressing the community's concerns.
