The nursing work environment presents many workplace stressors that can cause injuries and diseases. The safety of a nurse is thus the most critical aspect of the profession. Securing these caregivers from the various workplace-induced illnesses and injuries is essential for their wellbeing and that of their patients. For many years, the focus in health institutions has been the patient’s safety and not inclusive of that of the nurse. Due to the effect that these has on the nurses’ performance ability, there are efforts to ensure that nurses operate in safe environments.
