No Sweatshops: Harassment And Low Wages

There is an increase in consumerism and there are different industries that are coming up with the aim of providing the people with products and services. The sweatshops are common in many countries which are involved in the manufacture of products and services. However, what is more saddening are the working and the living conditions that the people who are working in these industries go through on a regular basis. Most of them are exposed to harassment, long working hours and low wages. So who can actually address the issue of the sweatshops. In my views, the governments where these industries operate should take up an action to make sure that the industries are improving the working conditions of the employees. As Garyfalakis (2016) notes, there is so much controversy that surrounds the issue of sweatshops. From an ethical perspective, the sweatshops are not good since they violate the basic human rights. Most of the rights that are protected are enshrined in the constitution of the respective countries. There are also different government agencies that are tasked with the responsibility of making sure that there is no violation of the human rights. These government bodies should be the speak for the minorities who are exploited in these industries. The government also has the ability to direct the management of these industries to improve the livelihoods of the employees.
