According to Midgley (2000), "moral isolationists" are mainly individuals that tend to disapprove of people that morally judge other cultures. Midgley, however, portrays them to be inconsistent since they do not seem to oppose when it comes to praising an exotic culture. On the other hand, when Midgley uses "moral isolationism," she aims to depict a state of individuals feeling forbidden from taking a critical position in any other culture, and this is mainly because of the respect and tolerance which is due from one system to another (Midgley,2000). She, however, explains that this is not something that is forced on people; instead, individuals just take it up because they feel it is respectful. Conversely, Midgley points out that it is not respectful mainly because it is almost impossible for a person to respect a matter or a culture that is unintelligent.
