Michael Anthony Spady is a notable deaf actor in Television shows and movies. Born in New Rochelle, New York, Spady had a tough childhood dealing with being deaf and trying to fit in with other children in school. Often some kids would think he was ignoring them (National Black Deaf Advocates, 2022). Spady began acting at the age of nine. Since then, he has played multiple characters in school and professional plays (IMDb, 2022). He was awarded the Deaf West’s scholarship for their Summer Program (IMDb, 2022). In 2006, Spady graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology with a bachelor's degree in Business. Spady has been successful in his career despite being deaf.
