Hybrid and traditional cars differ in terms of their engine functionality. Hybrid vehicles are powered by gasoline engines and electric motors utilizing energy stored in batteries and recharged through an interior combustion engine and braking. The electricity-fueled motor facilitates movement of the car at low speeds of about 30 mph when the car power demands are low.
