A typical generational difference in the workplace culture arises from using technology which tends to differentiate the older employees and younger employees. Currently, there are four main generations of employees in the workplace, which affects how employees interact with each other. The generations are generation characteristics. These are people who are programmed at the same time in history. The generational differences are influenced by education, views about family, and experiences. The four generations are traditionalists, baby boomers, generational X, and generation Y.
