How Will Education Make My Life Better [student`s name] [course name] [university] How Will Education Make My Life Better With unemployment still at its peak and student loans becoming more expensive, I am seriously thinking: will higher education still make a difference in my life, or will it cause me greater pain? I ask myself, why did my parents want me to study in the first place? There are two purposes of education: to allow the learner to develop skills that will allow him/her to cope with the challenges of adult life and to provide society with people who have the right skills for furthering the community's goals. Schools provide children with a way to interact with their peers. Here, they imbibe values which are important for the community, and they emulate real life through school lessons. Students in elementary learn to read and count as preparation for accounting the profits of their own enterprise and reading contracts for business expansion. In school, children learn how to negotiate and create deals with each other as preparation for future transactions they will make as adults. But school is not just practice for real life. In terms of income, Dr. Heather Allen, says that graduates with higher education degrees have greater opportunities compared to non-graduates. They can apply to more industry types as well as choose the kind of profession they want to practice. Graduates also have greater capability to earn more: "the US Census Bureau reported in 2004 that, on average, a college student earns $54,704…$30,056 earned annually by someone in a high school diploma…$22,100 earned by a high school dropout" ADDIN Mendeley Citation{33136c64-d518-4e10-ae00-3c11c8651b0b} CSL_CITATION { "citationItems" : [ { "id" : "ITEM-1", "itemData" : { "URL" : "/family/homeschool/why-is-higher-education-important-1367463.html", "accessed" : { "date-parts" : [ [ "2011", "12", "5" ] ] }, "author" : [ { "family" : "Allen", "given" : "Heather" } ], "container-title" : "Crosswalk", "id" : "ITEM-1", "issued" : { "date-parts" : [ [ "2005" ] ] }, "title" : "Why is higher education important?", "type" : "webpage" }, "uris" : [ "/documents/?uuid=33136c64-d518-4e10-ae00-3c11c8651b0b" ] } ], "mendeley" : { "previouslyFormattedCitation" : "(Allen, 2005)" }, "properties" : { "noteIndex" : 0 }, "schema" : "https://github.com/citation-style-language/schema/raw/master/csl-citation.json" } (Allen, 2005). More than the money, however, higher education allows one to improve his/her quality of life. Survey...
