Learning is an exciting experience but, at the same time, it is not easy. I am very grateful that I came to the United States to learn and acquire new educational experiences. It is a place that offers amazing learning opportunities to students from other countries. The biggest problem I faced in learning was English. English was a challenge because I came into contact with it very late, back in China. I remember that the first time I started learning English I was at Junior High School. I must admit that it was not an easy experience. The thought of coming to the United States was both exciting and terrifying. I had to cram a lot, for three months, before coming to the United States.
After coming to the United States, it was very difficult to communicate with people. It was very scary to talk with people because I was afraid I could make a mistake. There was another Chinese student like me in my class. We struggled to communicate well in English, and this proved to be a big educational obstacle for us. I constantly told my family that I was struggling in English, but my family members encouraged me a lot. They told me that they believed in me and that I could make it. They told me not to be afraid of making mistakes because it is through that that I was going to learn.
