The Digitization of Zines
The zines across the three platforms have visual narrations and zine titles that match the page’s intended audience like the POC Zine Project (POCZP) and the Queer Zine Archive Project (QZAP). It is easy to find materials by different authors expressing their zines uniquely and compellingly. The texts and messages in the zines are coherently crafted, and carry cultural richness, political energy, and expressions of authors similar but not equivalent to print zine sensation. For instance, the cook zine title, “Not Gay as in boring vegetables but Queer as in Wild Fermentation!” among several others exhibits an interesting and captivating way in which the authors inform the audience through traditional meals. Moreover, the zine archives are creatively organized in their print forms, topical consideration taken into account, year of availability, language, and creators making the search process simple and easy.
