The novel ‘Sula’ depicts Ajax as Sula's confidant and lover. Sula and Ajax first meet in their childhood, when Ajax catcalls Saru and her friend, Nel and later in life, they develop an affair. Ajax is an energetic and a young resident of Bottom whose mysteries are hard to explain. Even though he involves himself with multiple women, he is caring and loving.
