Critical thinking is the ability to think rationally and develop clear and objective solutions. It also includes the ability to engage in self-governing thinking and understanding the logical connections between thoughts. Critical thinking has been a critical great interest since the time of early philosophers such as Socrates and Plato. Most people assume that critical thinking is meant for academics and scientists. However, this is not true. Great military leaders like Attila the Hun and Julius Caesar were superior critical thinkers. Critical thinking is very important for Human Resource Sergeants. This is because they need these skills to oversee the leave management log, post operations, and ensure recurring reports are met. Human Resource Sergeants also advise the Command and Staff on finance, promotions, and subordinate related issues. Hence successful leadership cannot occur without critical thinking.
It is imperative to have critical thinking skills as they make one have effective communication with colleagues or other people. Information can also be shared among the departments effectively. Effective communication needs clarity of thoughts, capability to think and deliver messages effectively. Thinking systematically increases one’s presentation skills and the way one expresses some ideas. It also improves comprehension abilities when analyzing logical structures of texts (Brookfield, 2020). These skills enable Human Resource Sergeants to relate well with the colleagues as one makes rational decisions before communicating with other people. Human Resource Sergeants are responsible for safeguarding some vital information that the Army might require. These skills enable them to have good relations with other employees. The importance of Human Resource Sergeants is the ability to adapt and man the force and balance the role of a professional leader. As a Human Resource Sergeant, I can act as a commander and soldier. I should always provide my superiors with well-written reports. My main objective as Human Resource Sergeant is earning respect and trusting other service members and this is where I apply critical thinking. These skills assist me to relate with everyone in the organization.
