Persuasive Writing. Literature and Language Essay.
Case Assignment:
Note: Module 4 SLP should be completed before the Module 4 Case.
Module 4 Case is a Persuasive essay in which the writer encourages the reader to give in some way to a worthy cause. The writer must first select a licensed not-for-profit organization with a web presence before identifying a specific audience and appeal(s). Please note that giving comes in all shapes and sizes and not just financial contributions.
A significant part of persuasive writing is appeal. Various appeals in your essay may be used to encourage your target audience to act. It may be helpful to imagine you're writing a persuasive speech in which you must capture your audience's attention, reel them in with specific details (and appeals), and then seal the deal with the close in which you leave them with a lasting impression.
As always, a well-organized essay has a beginning, middle, and an end. The beginning, or introduction, should include an opening sentence to grab your reader’s attention. Follow the opening sentence with a brief background on the organization or cause. The last sentence of the introduction is the thesis statement. The thesis statement would likely be the ways in which your reader can “give.”
A well-supported essay includes supporting points, details, and examples. For this essay, you must decide the best way to organize the body of the paper. Each body paragraph must have a topic sentence that states the main point of the paragraph. Perhaps each paragraph could explain in detail the specific ways to give.
This essay must include no fewer than FOUR SOURCES (the organization’s website may be one).
This essay must include no fewer than EIGHT citations and should be a combination of direct quotations and paraphrased quotations with or without the author's name.
Please note that copying information word-for-word from a website is plagiarism. It is important that you use the information and cite accordingly. Plagiarism is a serious offense and grounds for failure. Please ask any questions before submitting questionable work.
The conclusion typically summarizes the main points of the essay and/or closes with a lasting impression. This might be a great place to explain to your reader the value of giving as well as provide contact information to get involved.
The essay must also include a Reference List that includes the website used (as well as others, if applicable).
Be sure to proofread your essay and edit for proper grammar, punctuation, diction (word choice), and spelling, as errors in sentence skills will lower a final grade. A grade will be determined based on the
Module 4 Case expectations and the Trident University General Education rubric for English.
Papers must be double-spaced in Times or Times New Roman font (12 cpi) with standard one-inch margins.
While the first person "I" is not typically used in a formal essay, it may be used if you have a personal connection to the organization as credibility can be an effective tool in persuasion.
Assignment Expectations:
• Write a persuasive essay (no fewer than SIX pages in length) that encourages the reader to “give.”
• Demonstrate the ability to make and support a Persuasive claim in a well-supported, organized, and cohesive essay.
• Demonstrate an understanding of audience appeals and the ability to use appeals effectively in persuading the reader

Giving wholeheartedly is one of the good deeds that people can do while they are still alive. People are always reminded that not everyone is privileged to be able to afford all their basic necessities leave alone other luxuries. Giving doesn’t necessarily have to involve money or wealth. It is basically whatever one is able to offer whether small or big. Sometimes are not happy when they are helped, but they are happy when they assist others. Dalai Lama, a famous transcendental leader states that giving is much better than receiving. Even though people might claim that owning materials brings happiness, Dalai Lama claims that it does not. In essence, people should always care for others for them to be truly happy. One can attain happiness by giving. Charities Aid Foundation is a charity organization in the United Kingdom. The organization provides assistance to the UK and other international donors. The main objective of this organization is to make giving exist so that people can transform communities and the lives of people around the world. This paper analyzes how the Charities Aid Foundation has directly or indirectly impacted the lives, other people, through giving.
The Charities Aid Foundation also known as CAF is a non-governmental organization whose main job is to offer relief and help in different parts of the country affected by either drought, starvation, floods or other natural calamities. The organization was founded in 1924 ion United Kingdom and 1999 in Australia. CAF is committed to facilitating the most efficient ways of connecting donors to the causes of issues and get money when it is needed. CAF also owns a bank that provides banking services like online banking to different charities in the United Kingdom. Due to its major recognizable contributions and help, the organization has been able to feed millions of families all over and can able to account for every single penny that they have received from various donors. This has enabled it to grow and prosper more than even the government-funded organizations due to its strict rule of anti-corruption.
The Charities Aid Foundation is an organization that is founded on Christian values and beliefs. The founders of this organization believe that people should give because everything belongs to God. People are also supposed to give to the church and other people who are in need. The Charities Aid Foundation has held a lot of campaigns to encourage and teach people the importance of giving. The Charities Aid Foundation has improved the economy of the UK through donations. In this case, people are encouraged to support charity organizations like the Charities Aid Foundation.
First, it is very critical to evaluate the importance of giving. Today the world can sometimes be full of darkness and there are people out there who have absolutely nothing apart from the air they breathe. They literally depend on the kindness and generosity of well-wishers in order for them to survive (Chan, 2013). This means that people will give the less fortunate in society, then they will have added a lot of value in their lives. People are also taught in their different religions and communities that the more they give the more they receive. This makes it a win-win situation. Biblically, giving is a righteous act. Human beings have a duty to assist other people. Giving is also called charity. In the bible, God used a lot of people to bless others through giving. God is the first giver and that is why everyone is encouraged to give.
Giving also inspires those with nothing to one day do the same in the future if they happen to come out of whatever miserable situation they are in. There are five reasons why CAF believes in giving. The organization believes that giving makes one feel good because it is a mood booster. Giving also strengthens the personal values of a person. Giving is very impactful because it teaches children the essence of generosity. Sometimes donating teaches children that they can make positive changes around the globe. It also encourages family members and friends to embrace the same thing in the future. For example, the famous political figure Mahatma Gandhi once said: "The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others”. This is statement is what keeps people going. It also challenges individuals to try and give more than what they did yesterday so that they can receive more than they have today (Patrick, Amber, 2013). Giving also gives people an opportunity to become role models especially to young ones who look up to them to provide for them with whatever they require.
Giving also teaches people to be responsible. For instance, in a case where a child has a wealthy father who also happens to participate in noble causes of giving to the less fortunate, chances are that the kid will grow up knowing that it's his responsibility to always give whatever that is available whether little or large to those who are in need. It also teaches responsibility in the sense that people learn to live without certain things. For example, individuals can get to sacrific...
