Abstract
Nowadays, many students choose to study engineering and computer science when they go to the university or college. There are several reasons can explain this situation. Firstly, these two majors have very high salary. Secondly, people think these two majors have the good future development. Lastly, it is very easy to find a job which relates to these two majors in our society. However, some people also claim that there are some negative things about these two majors. Firstly, if people choose these majors just because salary, they will not have enough passion and it will influence their efficiency. Secondly, no one can know the development in the future. Lastly, there are many majors such as economics are also very easy to find a job. Therefore, some students have remained hesitant to pursue these courses and choose to consider their interest and passion before taking a course.

A. Hook: Today, engineering and computer science are becoming more and more popular when students choose their majors. However, in some places, the government even encourage more students to choose these two majors. Why?

Thesis statement: Nowadays, engineering and computer science seem to be the most popular major in the university or college and the government in America even encourages their students to study engineering and computer science. Some people claim that students should follow this situation and study engineering or computer science in the college because it will be very easy to get high salary. However, some people think students should not follow this situation. The interest and passion are more important.
