Divorce is a social problem that is affecting many families around the world. It involves a permanent separation of spouses after staying together for a given period. The causes and effects of divorce are well documented in the sense that there are various factors that leads the married couples to break up on a permanent basis. This gives room to various effects on the people involved in the broken marriage. One of the causes in the modern society is infidelity, which is characterized by one or both spouses engaging into extra-marital sexual affairs. It is also referred to as cheating where one or both partners decide to be unfaithful to one another. The other cause is domestic violence that may erupt due to various reasons depending on the nature of the relationship in question. The other cause of divorce is consistent and persistent ideological differences between the spouses, which ends up disrupting their marriage. Third party interferences in marriages have also been cited as a major cause of divorce where there is massive external interference that ends up making the marriage unbearable and uncomfortable.
