We suppose to go minister others so they will have an understanding about our father God so they also may go and minister the powerful word of God. Mothering includes the comfort of close bodily contact and the satisfaction of an innate need to cling (Papalia, Feldman pg. 128). Biblical parenting is teaching a child good morals based on the bible. Every parent should adapt this important role because family is the backbone of the society as created by God. The parents need a lot of wisdom while raising their children, reason being that it takes wisdom to detect an arising situation, to know your child and to make decisions (Mercer, 2001). The following text is a discussion of how biblical passages as in the book of Deuteronomy 4:9 and 6:4 and other provided references, relate to the role of fathers and mothers and the roles that each parent should play in their children’s lives.
The Lord is Righteous in all ways and that is why in this text of Deuteronomy, He told the Israelites through His servant Moses, to take heed and keep His commands diligently. They may not also forget the things that their eyes had seen lest those things depart from their hearts forever. He also instructed them to teach those things to their children and their grandchildren. This implies that God wants us as parents to teach our children His ways and statutes in righteousness and knowledge of what our eyes have witnessed about His might. We are required to show the children the way they should follow as per His word in the good book. As we train and teach them, we ought to lead by example by obeying the Lord’s commandments so that the children will see and do the same.
