Why I Choose Chemical Engineering as my Major
Chemical engineering has fascinated me because I see it as a means of helping me achieve my aim of learning how to produce different products by converting basic raw materials through industrial chemical processes. I have chosen the major because it will help me acquire the basic and fundamental academic background to become a professional chemical engineer.As a chemical engineer, I will be able to manufacture, design and be involved in the operations of machinery and industrial plants that are involved in chemical and other associated processes. Secondly it will help me adapt as well as develop new substances that are useful for the production of cosmetics, foods, cleaners, beverages, pharmaceuticals and other related products. Thirdly I will be able to indulge myself in development of new technology i.e. nanotechnology, development of hydrogen power as well as fuel cells. Moreover I will be able to work in other related fields like biomedical engineering, material science amongst other fields.Concentrating in Chemical engineering is exhaustively not about fulfilling my academic ambition or my professional anticipation alone; it also acts as a gateway to better living standards.
