Introduction:
Evidence forms an integral part of solving a criminal case. Therefore, Evidence should be collected, analyzed, documented, validated, and eventually disclosed and presented during a trial in a manner that a court approves of law. Therefore, before any evidence is admitted in a court, the jury must first look at the details of the Evidence presented by the antagonizing parties to determine whether they meet the required standards. The jury or a judge can decide to admit or dismiss evidence-based rules based on the following rules of evidence admission. First, the admissibility of Evidence is based on its validity. Secondly, for Evidence to be admitted in a court of law, it must be authentic. The other rules of evidence admissibility in courts include completeness of the Evidence, and finally, the Evidence should be believable. This paper focuses on authenticity and validity rules of evidence admissibility in a criminal trial.
Authenticity rule of Evidence
The authenticity of Evidence generally refers to the realization of whether the Evidence is genuine. In other words, the rule of authenticity on Evidence seeks to measure and determine whether the tangible Evidence presented before the judge or jury seeks to support the findings that its proponents are claiming. Usually, courts do apply the authenticity rule on Evidence in two stages. The first stage usually seeks to determine whether the Evidence is sufficient to help a judge or the jury deter the facts of a case.
