Reflection Student’s Name Institutional Affiliation Reflection Special populations remain vital to the unique nature of present-day societies. Those populations give valuable insights into the challenges and experiences that different people face within societies. Throughout this course, I have learned how these special populations play a role in how people are nurtured from childhood to adulthood and how engaging with those people can change perspectives toward a range of social issues. Learning about people from special populations is important to any professional who is motivated to understand other people with diverse abilities and experiences. There are a range of key takeaways and applications gained from the course. One of the key areas of learning was cultural competency. Understanding diverse cultures in terms of their perception of other cultures or even communication styles can ease interactions with other people (Greeson et al., 2014).
