Fog computing is an abstract form of distributed infrastructure which enables the management of some application processes by smart devices available at the edge of a network (Kunal et al., 2019). Fog computing only stores data that is frequently accessed by users, while it takes the rest of the data from the cloud. Fog is efficient in data processing, as it acts as a middle layer between the hardware and the cloud. Therefore, fog computing acts as a firewall by adding a layer of security to the cloud. Fog computing faces security challenges such as authentication, malicious attacks, end-user privacy, and secure communication (Kunal et al., 2019).
