This paper aims at discussing some of the international events where the US military played the dominant role based on its foreign policies established after the civil war. America became cautious of its international relations by implementing policies that limited the powers and dominance of other countries (Jones & Stedman, 2017). For example, America played a dominant role when it constantly influenced policies that challenged the nuclear development program in countries like Iran, yet America had atomic power (Hastedt, 2017). As part of its precautionary measures, the US established a strategic defense Initiative known as the SDI in response to any future nuclear attacks. Introduced in 1983 by Ronald Reagan, the main objective of SDI program was to advance anti-ballistic missile system to protect itself from countries with missile program like the USSR (Hastedt, 2017).
