1. Agriculture: for many years, agriculture had not become a common and productive activity in these regions. There were no successful agricultural communities as most of them were formed based on localized production. This localized agriculture lacked the ability to consistently yield surplus that would create room for specialization, hence could not generate civilization easily like the formation of regional centers. In addition, localized agricultural communities lacked the ability of encouraging the formation of larger and stable communities (Stark & Arnold 1997).
Innovations: civilization needed technological development that had to address problems being experienced by agricultural people. Regions like America lacked innovations as communities were living individualistic life, hence no sharing of ideas to encourage creativity and innovation.
